ABOUT THE ORG
TAPISH Foundation is a trans-led grassroots organisation established in 2022 and based in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The organisation works at the community level to promote the rights, dignity, and inclusion of transgender and trans-queer persons. TAPISH focuses on access to shelter, education, health, livelihoods, documentation, and legal support. The organisation is a member of the District Transgender Welfare Board, and its leadership also serves as counsellors with the District-level Police Protection Cell.
One of TAPISH’s flagship initiatives is Mera Kunba, Madhya Pradesh’s first transgender and Queer shelter home, providing safe housing and holistic support to transgender and trans-queer individuals during crisis and transition.
