MISSION
ABOUT THE ORG
Founded in 1994, the Naz Foundation (India) Trust works to build a just and equitable society by empowering marginalised communities, including LGBTQIA+ individuals and people living with HIV/AIDS. The New Delhi LGBTQIA+ Centre is one of our key initiatives providing health, legal, psychosocial, and livelihood support. The Community Centre is the first of its kind in the country.

TESTIMONIAL
"Ravi, a beneficiary at Naz, was diagnosed with HIV and later began treatment for tuberculosis at a partner hospital. When complications arose, he was denied a hospital bed at AIIMS, reflecting a familiar pattern of bureaucratic exclusion faced by people living with HIV. Shyaam Ji intervened, advocating for Ravi’s admission to Lady Hardinge Medical College. Through persistent engagement with healthcare providers, Ravi was eventually admitted and began receiving accurate treatment. This case reflects queer peer support as system navigation and resistance, challenging medical neglect, ensuring continuity of care, and standing with the client at every stage of treatment and counselling. Emotional reassurance remained central throughout this complex process."
